Pair of Regency George III Sterling Silver and Cobalt Glass Salt Cellars 1813
Offered for sale is this pair of oval footed salt cellars from Regency London. The cellars have reeded legs and pierced rims. They bear hallmarks for London 1813. The maker's marks are rubbed, only an "H" is legible. No monogram or removal. The oval cellars measure 3 1/2 inches long by 2 /14 inches wide by 2 1/8 inches tall. The plain 3 1/2 inch long salt spoons are Victorian silver plate. The weighable silver in the pair of salt cellars is 93 grams.
Condition: Good with patina of previous polishing. Small split near top of one leg, as shown. One glass insert is heavier than the other; both seem of the period. A couple of fleabites on the polished rim of one insert. Spoons in excellent condition.
