Pair Antique 10 Inch Blue Chippendale Shape Feather Edge Pearlware Plates 1790
Offered for sale is this fine pair of blue feather edge plates with Chippendale shape, derived from contemporary silver work. The plates are pearlware; you can see the blue tint of the glaze wherever the glaze pools. No maker's mark save for small impressed "W" marks. Circa 1790. I have left the previous owners label on the back, since it provides provenance for these plates. It says: "P[ai]r Blue Edged Plates, Bacheldon House, Londonderry N.H."
The plates are 9 3/4 inches wide. The pair weighs 1 lb 9 oz (shipping weight 3 lbs).
Condition: Excellent. No chips or cracks. These plates have some smudgy cobalt markings in the center of the plates, as if the glaze ran somewhat. The usual stilt marks, inclusions and imperfections of early pottery production.
Domestic shipping is free. Foreign shipping is by the methods listed in the shipping calculator.
