Worcester 18th Century Porcelain Dr. Wall Queen Charlotte Cup and Saucer
Offered for sale is this porcelain cup and saucer handpainted both underglaze and overglaze in the swirl pattern known as "Queen Charlotte" or "Catherine's Wheel". It dates from the period 1760 to 1780, First Period. Worcester underglaze crescent mark on saucer; fretted square mark on cup. The cup and saucer were deaccessioned from the St. Louis Art Museum and have museum numbers.
The cup is 2 1/4 inches wide. The saucer is 5 3/8 inches wide. The set weighs 7 oz (shipping weight 1 lb).
Condition: Very good save wear on the gilding on the rim and one tiny shallow flake on the cup rim exterior, hardly visible, as shown. There is also one small flake on the foot rim of the saucer. Otherwise fine.
