Antique Spode 5 Piece Dessert Set Hand Painted Hexagonal Plates c 1812
Offered for sale is this set of four floral hand painted hexagonal plates and a matching berry bowl, from Spode, hand painted in the high quality scattered floral sprays that were so fashionable in the first quarter of the 19th century. The dishes also have embossed flowers. The pieces are marked with the pattern number 1918, which dates the pieces to 1812. Note also the embossed flowers in alternate panels, which was a brand new Spode innovation of the early 19th century
The four plates measure 9 1/4 inches across (point to point). The bowl measures 9 3/4 inches wide by 1 1/2 inches tall. The set weighs 5 lbs (shipping weight 8 lbs).
Condition: The dishes are in excellent condition, save for some wear on the gold of the rim of half the plates, especially on the points. Some very minor interior wear from stacking, but the flowers are in amazing condition.
