18th Century Black Transfer Feather Edge Creamware Platter Sadler and Green
Antique 18th century creamware Feather Edge platter decorated in overglaze transfer decoration showing a bucolic landscape with a lady, fishermen, and classical buildings. Floral swags decorate the rim. No marks. Attributed to Leeds Pottery with printing done at Liverpool by Sadler and Green. Circa 1770.
The platter is 17 1/4 inches long by 14 inches wide. It weighs 2 lb 12 oz (shipping weight 6 lbs).
Condition: Very good, no cracks or repairs. One small fleabite on the rim, as shown. Some wear to the transfer decoration, which being over the glaze is prone to wear. Please see the detail photos.
